Self-supporting structures

The free-standing shelving is a symbol of Dalmine LS design, engineering and production capabilities. Their structure is covered with wall and roof panels, supported by the same shelving and can be completed with solar panels in order to make the warehouse independent from an energy point of view. The 100-120 and 140 mm uprights allow for heights of up to 40 m and are very resistant to static loads and those generated by wind and seismic forces.

Applications

The self-supporting shelving systems of Dalmine LS, being made with galvanized steel profiles, are also the ideal solution for temperature-controlled and refrigerated environments. Occupying a reduced floor area, the self-supporting warehouses make maximum use of heights, which can range from 10 to 40 meters, in full safety of seismic regulations.

The self-supporting metal racks, installed on a concrete platform, can be configured for single, double or multiple depth storage. Depending on the customer’s needs, various options are available regarding ventilation systems, lighting, temperature control and fire protection. In addition, self-supporting warehouses are ideal for temperature controlled or refrigerated environments.

More info

Warehouses built with self-supporting shelving are true engineering works: the shelving is the main element of the building’s construction system together with the infill and roofing elements.Given the complexity of construction, self-supporting warehouses must meet specific static and dynamic requirements while complying with the regulations in force for the construction sector.

The self-supporting metal shelving system supports the weight of the stored goods, the handling devices and the entire covering structure of the warehouse, while resisting external, atmospheric and seismic agents (snow, wind, seismic movements etc.).

The freestanding industrial shelving units of Dalmine LS are particularly suitable for reducing the footprint, since they develop in height, making maximum use of all the space available. With a height ranging from 10 to 40 meters, the construction constraints are determined solely by the current regulations and the structural capacity and handling of the trans loaders.

There are many advantages that result from the use of Dalmine LS self-supporting shelving. Let’s see them in detail:

  • The complete coating of self-supporting warehouses with tamping panels avoids the construction of a new building;
  • The roof of the self-supporting shelving can be completed with solar panels to make the warehouse energy-efficient;
  • Complete optimization of spaces and heights, in compliance with current regulations;
  • High productivity and continuity of logistics flows thanks to the use of automatic trans loaders;
  • Excellent integration with adjacent traditional buildings.
