Dalmine LS has built a pallet rack and multi-floor shelving for QVC, the multimedia shopping retailer that combines TV, digital, mobile and social media for a unique and engaging shopping experience, that makes millions of shopping enthusiasts live a journey to discover new and exciting products. QVC builds authentic relationships with its customers and, through storytelling, accompanies them to discover exclusive products in the categories of jewellery, fashion, beauty, home and electronics. An international reality present on the market since 1986 and in Italy since 2010.

Requirements

The logistics centre in Castel San Giovanni is the main supply centre for the Italian site in Brugherio (MB). Reaching over 25 million homes, the growth of QVC has been so important that a few years after its first broadcast it was necessary to scale down the logistics department. The solution had to support future growth forecasts, be scalable and possibly integrated with automation systems.

Our solutions

Given the large number of order lines processed daily, it was essential to find a storage solution that would optimize the space available and at the same time allow operators to streamline internal routes. To achieve the objectives set, we have Bi-Bloc pallet rack for the storage of 13,000 LUs a multi-storey shelving system which is controlled by conveyors for the storage of 20,000 boxes.
